Merry Christmas, Peace on Earth, Good Will Toward Men. May the spirit of the season be with you and all of your Family and Friends!
Merry Christmas!
There is a common saying each Christmas Season as holidays draw near with many busying themselves at an accelerated pace mailing cards, buying gifts, wrapping, decorating, baking, and chatting with relatives and friends all while preparing a variety of special foods for the celebration, that whatever has not been completed by then will simply not be.
Still, I cannot help in the spirit of the holiday to even in small ways reach out and contact those who I meant to write or have been thinking about but was simply not afforded the time to do so in the midst of the preparations.
While the goal is always creating the perfect Christmas in this magical season, part of the magic is how we respond when issues beyond our control take hold like an episode from the Chevy Chase Movie: ‘Christmas Vacation’.
This Christmas Eve I was rather stunned when shortly after guests arrived that our Christmas Tree tumbled over.
Fortunately, a squirrel did not jump out, if you remember that episode of the movie.
The tree was graciously cleaned up by our college age attendees but later then sent the washing machine malfunctioning with overloaded towels and debris from the clean up.
Lots of action in between a younger neighbor requiring assistance on a broken beanbag scattering tiny white balls all across the basement floor in the midst of a game the children were playing downstairs.
But as always on Christmas Eve all really is calm and bright, the lights sparkled, the food and drink were fabulous in the celebration and somewhere around 3:00 in the morning was extended: Merry Christmas to All and to All a Good Night!
Well, a good night until 7:30 am when my Grandson the J-Dude announced it was time to get up for Santa had arrived! Ho! Ho! Ho!
Wishing All Readers, Your Families, and Friends, a Very Merry Christmas, may your seasons all be bright!
