This years theme is Taste America: The Philadelphia Food Evolution
The title then celebrates the legacies of where it all began in the city’s restaurant renaissance through its Chefs, while also acknowledging Philadelphia’s new Rising Star Chefs. The event, hosted at Peche Restaurant in East Falls includes two levels of participation, ‘The Taste Around’ with tickets priced at $200 and the VIP Party ticket $500.
The Taste Around coordinated by David Katz of Creekstone Farms, begins at 7:00 pm featuring small plate foods among the rising star chefs. A few of the star chefs include: Chef George Sabatino at Morgan’s Pier, Chef Chris Kearse of Will, and Chef Joe Cicala of Le Virtu.
The VIP Party focuses on honoring and greeting Philadelphia Legacy Chefs and former James Beard Award Winners, Georges Perrier, Judy Wicks, Jean-Marie Lacroix, Susanna Foo, and Steven Poses. This segment of the evening event coordinated by Chef Patrick Feury of Nectar will feature dishes within a four course meal created by protégés of the honorees, Pierre Calmels of Bibou for Georges Perrier, Ann Coll of Meritage for Susanna Foo, Matt Ridgway for Jean Marie Lacroix. A special dessert provided by Celebrity Chef Carla Hall of ABC’s The Chew will accompany the evening’s silent and live auctions.
